This should be your intention too, as a user, to fully evaluate URL.Helper.v3.42.CrackSerial-D.H.Crew without. My concern is that the fonts and the skill with which the numbers were applied vary considerably the frame, barrel and cylinder.
Is this unusual Did different artisans stamp the various components As the barrel has an acceptance stamp indicating 1918, and the Webley logo is dated 1915, Im wondering if the cylinder and barrel might have been mated to an earlier frame. In these two locations, the numbering seems to be the same quality as yours. On the cylinder, my numbering is quite a lot straighter, though not perfectly straight by any means. ![]() For example, on a the barrel stamp, to the left and right of the number, is a pretty good edge that cant be seen in your photo. Url Helper 3 45 Serial Numbers OnIve carefully examined the serial numbers on the frame, barrel and cylinder and I can find no indication that earlier numbers were effaced. The metal surrounding the numbers displays no dips, divits or departure from the curves or sharp angles which pass through those areas. With a high power magnifying glass it appears that the fonts of all the numerals are very similiar excepting that whoever stamped the barrel really slurred them trying to stamp on a rounded surface. Do I understand you to say that the serial numbers on you MK VI are somewhat slurred on the cylinder and barrel as compared to the frame Cheers, Bill. The difference between the 1915 frame and the 1918 barrel dates may be due to your revolver having the barrel replaced as a repair done in service.
